Hailing from the UK, Steve Henshaw has had a passion for baking from a young age. At the tender age of 16, he landed his first job as a night baker at Don Millers Bakeries in his home town of Clacton-on-Sea, Essex. He went on to study baking at the National Baker School in London, before landing a job at Simmons Bakeries, suppliers of fine desserts and pastries for places such as Buckingham Palace, Wimbledon Tennis Club and Hatfield House. In 2000, he decided to escape to the sunshine, landing a job at the Old English Bakery. Following its closure in 2008, he worked at the Village Bakery, before moving to Black Trumpet in 2011, where he heads up the culinary team, creating decadent breads, cakes, savories and desserts.
